Cassie meet Charlotte . . . .Charlotte Tilbury

Charlotte Tilbury is a name I have heard time and time again in the blogging community. In fact the first person I heard mention the name and the products was Patricia Bright, saying how good these products were for women of colour. At first I thought ''nahhh'', but gradually I saw more and more youtubers and bloggers, saying similar so of course the curiosity light bulb then went 'ping'. Of course when something is 'SHA-MAZING', everyone gets on the bandwagon, but true to Cassie fashion, I decided to leave it for a while before locating and investigating for myself.

Makeup gives you INSTANT CONFIDENCE. It’s about feeling as fabulous on the outside as you do on the inside.

Charlotte Tilbury launched her brand in 2013 which has quickly become well established in the beauty industry due to Charlottes' knowledge of makeup, spanning over 20 years. The aim behind the products is to create something which gives us the 'hollywood' look; the glam, the glitz, the flawless look, with the use of products which are simple yet effective. Charlotte believes makeup and skincare should be easy to choose, easy to use, and easy to gift, which having seen the entire collection in Selfridges and John Lewis, I can nod in complete agreement.
Charlotte has worked with some of the biggest names, such as Kate Moss, Penelope Cruz, Cara Delevingne, to name but a few, and has launched two stores; Covent Garden and Westfield White City Shopping Centre, which I must say looks absolutely exquisite, pretty much mesmerizing (every girls dream 'powder room').

Last week I went to Birmingham for the day, with the intention of buying clothes for the Races (blog post coming soon). However I took a diversion and popped into Selfridges, which if you've ever been to the Bullring and been to the 'beauty' floor, it literally is a beauty bloggers haven. So much to choose from, so many brands to have a nosey at, you literally do not know where to go or look. At present I am looking for a new foundation so I figured this would be a perfect opportunity to trial / test out the products from Charlotte Tilbury.

Although I am still 50/50 on the foundation (that calls for another blog post), the lipsticks . . . . they are amazing, and I mean A M A Z I N G! I explained to the 'In-House Artist' what I was looking for; a red lipstick that wasn't bright, so in your face, but suited my skin tone, and I was presented with 'Red Carpet Red' from the Matte Revolution range. This is a deep ruby red lipstick, which on my skin complexion gave a subtle ever so slight pink finish. It's a gorgeous shade of red which personally would suit most skin tones, and is matte in finish. Some say ''matte lipsticks are drying'', not this one as it is in enriched with Lipstick Tree & Orchid extract which softens, protects and hydrates lips for younger-looking, healthy lips. The longevity of this lipstick is incredible, thanks to the perfect blend of oils and waxes which gives that long-lasting colour on the lips. Literally when sampled this did not budge whatsoever, not even smudge when I had a drink. Simply fabulous.
And lets not forget the packaging. Like seriously beautiful; rose gold which just twinkles when the light hits it, giving a very luxury / expensive feel, which is very evident from the marketing / branding of the products and the name.

Lip Liner . . I hold my hands up, I have never ever worn lip liner *tumbleweed*, why? I never really saw the need for it as I've always had fuller lips. So when I was presented with the Lip Cheat, 'Savage Rose', I thought EH, that won't work / suit me, but now I sit here eating humble pie!  The colour of this lip liner I would describe as 'earthy', almost terracotta red. It has a very warm tone to it, and again very suitable and complimentary for my skin complexion. The consistency is very rich and velvety, and  glides effortlessly over the lips with the power to completely re-shape, re-size and balance your lips. Staying power, again is amazing; 6hours +, and it's waterproof, so you can drink / eat, without worrying about potential smudging of your lips.
Pairing 'Red Carpet Red' and 'Savage Rose' are two which definitely compliment one another well. As Charlotte says ''Always match your lip liner to your lipstick shade to perfect your lip shape and make your lipstick stay in place from desk ‘til dusk to disco!''.

Darlings, lipstick empowers confidence – it’s happiness in a tube!

Price

Anything luxurious, of good quality, don't be surprised at the price tag. The Matte Revolution lipsticks come in at £24.00, which for some may be slightly more than anticipated. I personally think it's a reasonable cost, having recently purchased a lipstick from another well known brand (not MAC) for £22.00.
As for the Lip Cheats, these come in at £16.00 which I do think is a little on the pricey side, for what essentially is a pencil you use now and then!  Nevertheless, it does go on well and has serious staying power which for me is the big winner.

Is it worth the money?

Charlotte Tilbury really has gone to town by ensuring there is a colour / shade to match every single skin tone. From browsing the website and watching Charlotte on youtube in action herself, I get a real sense of drive and passion for what she truly believes and wishes to create for others to enjoy and introduce to their makeup / daily routines.

Should I invest? Honestly, yes. The matte revolution lipsticks and lip cheats are extremely pigmented, giving a bright and vibrant look to really make a statement finish to your makeup. That in itself is the deal breaker; a lipstick, that doesn't budge after 'x' amount of hours, winner! However they aren't the type of products you just casually throw in your weekly shopping trolley, as they are pricey (depending on your finances). Although this is the first time of trying and buying 2 products from Charlotte Tilbury, I have to say this won't be my last (I pray for you bank account)! Next on the list . .. 'Walk of Shame' and 'Carina's Love'.

Have you tried Charlotte Tilbury products? If so, what is your favourite product?

Would love to hear your thoughts.
